Phenomenal food. Everything you could ask for in flavor and in spice. My food was so good that I entirely forgot to take a picture of it for my review (the picture attached is what my boyfriend ordered).
I ordered the brown stew chicken meal (small). The chicken was seasoned and cooked perfectly - the chicken of course falls off the bone. The vegetables and rice that come with it were bomb, too.
My boyfriend ordered the jerk chicken. Of course I had to try it for... research purposes. *smile*
The jerk chicken was spicy and just truly amazing. Words do it no justice. We also got a large order of plantains on the side - also delicious.
Total price was $32; portions are great and taste is delectable. Absolute must have. -

I hate being that salty guy leaving a one star review, but wanted to share an honest depiction of our experience here today. Hopefully this catches the attention of someone in management at this place, and they make the necessary adjustments.
Drove up from seattle with my mom, super excited to introduce her to some authentic Jamaican cuisine (she's never had it before). This place had solid yelp reviews so I figured, why not.
Food:
We ordered the oxtail and the jerk chicken plate. Both came with a side of cabbage, that had gone BAAD. You could literally smell it as soon as the server brought out our food. I have no doubt in my mind we were served food that had been prepared several days ago. Almost like they cooked a ton of food, didn't sell it all, and decided the cost effective thing was to repurpose it. The chicken and ox tail both seemed reheated, who knows how long ago these had been prepared.
Service:
Once the server brought our plates out, we pretty much didn't see another soul till we'd left. We came in around mid day on a Saturday, and were the only ones in the place. At least stop by once and ask how the food was? Idk, I won't dock points for that but maaan, I reeeaally wanted to like this place. Highly doubt my mom will want to try Jamaican food again any time soon, which says a lot about our experience. -

So darn good!
It was a beautiful day in Portland, so I headed up to the North side. I've been craving Jamaican food and heard about this place from friends, so I decided to give it a chance. You can't miss the spot: it's colorful decor makes it stand out in a fun way.
I love oxtail, so I got the special which comes with rice and cabbage. And when I tell you it was good, it was GOOD. Each bit reminded me of the Jamaican restaurants back home. The oxtail melted off the bone and had so much flavor! I'm not a big cabbage fan, but it was so good I ate that too. Rice was spot on as well. Washed everything down with a cream soda and yassssssssss.
This place is authentic and the owner is super friendly and proud of her food. Come down here and you'll never want to leave. -

Just like in Jamaica! Went here looking for authentic Jamaican style food and we found it - jerk chicken was hot as hell, the festivals were sweet but not too sweet, the company was awesome.
